Birding for Fun - 2023

Please join Mark Tobin and Jud Haverkamp for a PWV birding experience on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 7:00 A.M. at Pineridge Natural Area, Fort Collins.

This will be an informal hike in and around the Pineridge Natural Area to see what migratory and other birds are present and to sharpen your skills for identifying birds. Migratory waterfowl are likely to be a major focus as well as some late-migrating songbirds. Mark Tobin spent his career with the USDA working on human-wildlife conflicts around the United States, and has enjoyed birding throughout the US and abroad. Jud Haverkamp is a PWV member, Fort Collins Master Naturalist and amateur birder, having first participated in an Audubon Christmas Bird Count while in high school.

Please bring binoculars, field guides, birding apps, water, snack, sun and insect protection. We will meet at Spring Canyon Park, 2626 W Horsetooth Road, in Fort Collins and walk from there. No fee or reservation is required but parking may be limited so carpooling is encouraged.
